Face Lift

Although it is not possible to stop the effects of aging, it is possible to reverse the effects of aging with facelift operations. The aim of facelift or face rejuvenation operations is to move the tissues to where they were in youth. Although facelift surgeries are mostly preferred by women, they are also preferred by male patients.

Facelift operations are divided into three parts as lower face, mid face, and upper face.

Different surgical procedures can be applied to eliminate deformations in different areas. People who have deformations on the neck and face skin, but whose skin has not lost its elasticity, are among the ideal candidates for facelift operations. In addition, there should be no different health problems in order to apply the face lift operation.

Facelift operations are performed in the hospital environment and under local or general anaesthesia according to the needs of the patient. The duration of facelift surgeries vary according to the procedures to be applied to the patient. After the operation, which takes 3 to 10 hours, the patient is discharged on the same day or after one night.

Returning to daily life after facelift operations is comfortable and quite fast. What patients should consider is that they fully follow the advice of doctors and do not force themselves with heavy exercise. The time for patients to return to daily life varies between 7 and 10 days.

Neck contouring helps restore balance to facial features by providing a better defined jawline that frames the rest of the face. Liposuction and lifting surgeries for neck are often combined for neck contouring.

Following the procedure, patients typically wear a special supportive facial corset for about 4 or 5 days, be ready to return to full activity after about 2 weeks. It is typical to experience some swelling and bruising after combined facial surgry; this should resolve during the first 10 to 14 days after surgery.



Things to consider for Facelift & Neck Contouring

• Rest with your head elevated in the first few days after the surgery.
• Take pain medication as recommended by our doctors.
• Apply cool packs to the face to ease pain and reduce swelling.
• You need to wear a special garment that compresses your face and neck and helps reduce swelling. The neck-compression garment is usually needed for five to seven days after lifting surgery.
• Follow wound care instructions as directed by our surgeon.
• Do not pick at crusting scabs that develop on your wound.
• Follow instructions on when you can begin using shampoo and soaps and what kinds you can use.
• Wear clothes that fasten in the front (rather than clothes that are pulled over the head).
• Avoid excessive pressure or motion on and around the incisions.
• Avoid using makeup.
• Avoid vigorous or aerobic activity or sports.
• Avoid direct sun exposure to the incision for three weeks and use a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher thereafter.
• Avoid coloring, bleaching or perming hair for at least six weeks.
• Be sure to follow all instructions given by your doctor after the procedure.
