The main purpose of mammoplasty operations is to give the breast an aesthetic appearance. For this reason, the type of breast implant to be preferred varies from person to person. Breast implants, which are separated according to their shapes, are divided into two groups as round and anatomical (drop).
The shape of round breast implants resembles a hemisphere where middle part is thick. After the round breast implant is placed, a fuller appearance is obtained in the milky part of the breast. The appearance of anatomical silicones, also known as drop silicones, resembles a raindrop. While the lower part of the anatomical implant is wide, the upper part is thin. After the drop of silicone is placed, the lower parts of the breast appear fuller.
The process of deciding on the shape of the breast is among the subjects that are closely followed by those who are interested in breast augmentation. Although the patient’s wishes and opinions are important in the breast implant shaping process, they are not sufficient on their own. When deciding on the type of breast implant, several criteria such as skin structure, body structure, and shape of the rib cage should be considered. A point that should not be missed in breast implants is the natural appearance.
Breast augmentation operations, which are an aesthetic operation, not only affect the appearance of the patient, but also directly affect their health. For this reason, the shape and size of the preferred breast implant is very important.
Things to consider about Breast Augmentation Surgery
You may think your breasts look too high and the skin feels tight right after the surgery. This will setle and you will have more natural-shaped breasts within 6 weeks.
Our surgeon will explain how to look after your wounds, bandages and sutures.
You will have a special pressure bra over your breasts which should be worn day and night for up to four weeks following your breast augmentation.
You’ll be gradually allowed to do many of your normal activities within the first couple of weeks but don’t engage in any strenuous activity until three to four weeks after your surgery.
Be sure to follow all instructions given by your doctor after the procedure.
Breast Uplift
Women’s breasts change in shape and lose the skin elasticity with increasing age. These changes and loss of skin elasticity can also result from pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight fluctuations, gravity and heredity.
A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape the breasts and support the new breast contour. By removing excess, stretched out skin, reshaping the breast tissue, and raising the nipple & areola into a more forward position, patients achieve a more youthful breast contour. Stretched and large areola can also be reduced with breast lift surgery.
Things to consider about Breast Uplift Surgery
The procedure takes about 1-2 hours to perform, depending on the extent of surgery.
Your breasts will be bandaged or placed in a special surgical bra after surgery and most patients are permitted to begin wearing underwire bras again after about 8 weeks.
Most patients experience some soreness and swelling after breast lift surgery. They should gradually subside over the first several months.
Expect to sleep on your back for the first few weeks or more after surgery. If you sleep on your side or stomach, invest in some extra pillows to help keep you from turning over.
Many patients return to work within the first week after breast lift surgery.
You will need to limit exercise other than walking for the first 2-6 weeks.
Be sure to follow all instructions given by your doctor after the procedure.
Breast Reduction
Breast reduction is a plastic surgery procedure that reduces the size and weight of large, heavy breasts, helping patients have a more aesthetically pleasing breast contour. By removing excess breast tissue, fat, and sagging, stretched skin, our plastic surgeons do not only make the breasts smaller and firmer, but also improve breast symmetry and eliminate sagging. In a breast reduction, surgeons remove excess breast tissue, fat, and skin, moving the nipple/areola complex to a higher, more forward position on the chest.
Things to consider about Breast Reduction Surgery
Your chest will be bandaged, and you will need a special surgical bra. Gently placing ice packs on top of the bandages can help alleviate discomfort as well.
While you may be permitted to shower a few days after surgery, you will probably need help getting dressed, as you will not have full range of motion in your chest and shoulders at first.
Our cosmetic surgeon will likely have you wait a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks before resuming exercise except walking; this helps to ensure your incisions heal properly.
After about 2-3 months, your final results will be more or less in place and you can shop for new bras with confidence. However, you may see the subtle change for the first 6 to 12 months.
Be sure to follow all instructions given by your doctor after the procedure.
